If you are getting a few quotes for security screens unfortunately you are going to here quite a bit of rubbish out there regarding which product is better than others. Here at Suncoast Home Accessories we are a little different to most other companies that sell only one type security screen and try to ram it down your throat as the best on the market.
We carry a large range of options, which means you have a choice. For example if you are close to the water you may chose a marine grade product like Invisi-Gard or Forcefield, or if your doors and screens are internal you may chose Clearshield for its an easier product to clean.

The quickest way to explain the different products is to start with the stainless steel used. There are two types, 304 grade & 316 grade which is also referred to sometimes as “marine grade”. You will hear a few stories regarding the two metals but to sum it up 304
is a slightly stronger metal than 316, but 316 is still very strong and has better corrosion resistance, particularly to pitting corrosion which is important if you are living in coastal conditions. Also keep in mind 316 grade in a more expensive metal to produce but some of the 304 grade security screens are still more expensive.

All the stainless steel products bellow are manufacture to pass and exceed Australian and industry standards. They all have their own patented unique fixing methods, designed so that no screws or rivets are required and so no contact between the two dissimilar can accrue which can cause corrosion. In choosing a product always make sure it’s made to Australian Standards and installed by are company who is a active member of the NSSA- National Security Screen Association. This means our work is regularly inspected by NSSA. If a company is not a member you would have to wonder WHY NOT?

Invisi-gard - 316 Stainless Steel Security

15 Year Warranty

This is our most popular security screen product. Well priced and has the biggest warranty out of all our screens. INVISI-GARD is supported by a 15-year warranty from Alspec,
a wholly Australian owned company that has been in business of supplying building products to the high specification commercial building industry for more than 35 years. INVISI-GARD uses 316 Marine Grade Stainless Steel Mesh which gains its strength from the Ultra High Tensile wire (900 MPa) from which it is woven. Large range of colours & also comes with a Timber Grain Finish which is great for front doors.

ClearShield - Stainless Steel Security

7 Year Warranty

Clearshield Security Doors and Screens are pressed from a single, of flat sheet of stainless steel, and locked into an aluminium frame without rivets or screws. A matrix of tiny holes measuring 2 mm round—provide the ultimate in protection from intruders, and removes the need for insect screens. Tested and exceeded all Australian Standards

ClearShield's smooth easy wipe surface, unlike woven mesh will save you time and effort in keeping your doors and screens looking and feeling new. Being a 304 grade stainless steel this must be cleaned and maintained every 1-2 weeks close to the water. This is our most popular indoor product where a door or screen can’t be washed down with a hose. Clearshield also comes in a timber grain finish, has a great emergency exit and sliding screen system and also has a 3.5 star energy rating.

ForceField - by Prowler Proof

It's almost invisible, still it's near impossible to get past. Like all other Prowler Proof products, ForceField® is welded instead of being held together by screws or rivets.
A weld is stronger than any screw or rivet…and it looks better too. With its seamless corners, ForceField® is the best looking security screen on the market. Prowler Proof products are made to last. We expect you to look after your Prowler Proof product like you would any other major investment, but we have no rigorous cleaning schedules laid out. Secureview - highly evolved security

Secureview may look like a fly screen, but is actually high tensile (0.8mm) 316 grade stainless steel woven into a fine mesh. The strength and the composition of the mesh offers the comfort of fresh air flowing through your home allowing you to enjoy the clear and unobstructed views of the outdoors.

The 316 Grade mesh is assembled using a unique, patented pressure process that eliminates the need for screws, rivets, pins or snap ins. The process ensures that no metal surfaces come into contact with each other, eliminating the possibility of corrosion. Be assured these products have been tested to Australian standards.

Secureview also offer some good savings with their green service (6 week lead time) for those budget conscious buyers, or maybe for someone who has time to plan ahead and building a new home. 21 Standard colours & comes in a Cedar Timber Grain finish.

Xceed - by Secureview

7 Year Warranty

Xceed perforated aluminium screens are a modern replacement for outdated diamond grilles and a less expensive alternative to the premium SecureView Stainless Steel Mesh. Xceed perforated Aluminium panels are extremely durable, corrosion resistant and energy smart. Xceed surpasses the Australian Standards and is built with the same state of the art design as SecureView Stainless Steel.

Xceed does look quite similar to Clearshield stainless steel but it is not as clear to look through as the sheet is twice as thick to make sure it passes Australian Standards.
Priced in-between diamond grille screens and stainless steel security.
